***Pumpkin is now RESERVED, we are no longer accepting applications, thank you***
Pumpkin is new to Homeless Hounds and this lucky young girl has got herself a lovely foster home. This is what they have to say about her:
Meet Pumpkin who is a 6- to 8-month-old mixed breed who is currently in with a fosterer. We believe she has a mix of Staffy & Beagle
Pumpkin is a delightful young girl full of affection, curiosity, and playful energy. With her gentle nature and eager-to-please personality, she wins over everyone she meets. She loves people, enjoys the company of other dogs, and thrives on being part of family life.
Although her exact breed mix is unknown, Pumpkin seems to have inherited some of the best traits from Staffy, Beagle, and possibly Collie lines — the friendliness and loyalty of a Staffy and the bright energy and curiosity of a Beagle (without the bark!). This lovely blend makes her a fun, loving, and engaging companion. Pumpkin is doing brilliantly with her training and is almost fully house trained. She walks nicely on the lead, though she sometimes gets underfoot, so continued gentle guidance will help her as she grows.
She does show some mild separation anxiety and may whine when left, so she’d suit a home where someone is around most of the day or where she has the company of another friendly dog. With patience, reassurance, and consistency, she’ll continue to gain confidence.
Due to her prey drive, Pumpkin cannot live with rabbits or other small animals. She can be a little boisterous when excited, so we feel she’d be best matched with children aged 8+. She is wonderful with children and especially enjoys cuddling up with the 10-year-old boy in her foster home.
Pumpkin loves to play and is very respectful with her toys, never damaging them and leaving anything that isn’t hers alone. She does enjoy a good bone and can become a little possessive of it, so some simple management and continued training will help with this. Pumpkin is a sweet, bright young dog who adores cuddles and affection. She will make a wonderful companion for someone who can offer her love, time, and gentle guidance.

To adopt Pumpkin, please complete an Adoption Application form and we will be in touch.
