Vega is a 5 year old Old English Bulldog.
Vega came into our care following the unexpected loss of her owner. Understandably, this has been a huge change for her, and she is now looking for a quiet and calm loving forever home.
Vega is a wonderfully easy dog to have around the home. She is fully house-trained and will let you know when she needs to go outside. She has lovely manners indoors and is content to spend much of her day relaxing and snoozing. Like many Bulldogs, she enjoys her creature comforts and is happiest with a cosy bed and a peaceful environment.
She is happy with gentle, modest walks and doesn’t require lots of exercise. On the lead, Vega likes to walk slightly ahead, but she isn’t particularly strong and is easy to manage. Once her walk is over, she’s more than happy to head home for another nap.
Vega can be left alone for up to four hours without becoming distressed – she just snoozes.
Since arriving with us, Vega has shown herself to be a sensitive girl who can be nervous of unfamiliar things. Household items such as the vacuum cleaner and even objects like fans can worry her, so she’ll need an understanding owner who will help build her confidence at her own pace. She isn’t a dog who will thrive in a busy, bustling household and would much prefer a calm, predictable environment where life is kept fairly quiet.
For this reason, we believe Vega would be best suited to a home with older, sensible children who understand when she needs her own space. She would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a relaxed dog who enjoys a peaceful lifestyle.
Vega has previously lived in a multi-dog household, so she is familiar with other dogs. However, we feel that environment was a little overwhelming for her, and she would be much happier in a quieter home. She could potentially live with a calm, gentle male dog following successful introductions.
