Walter

Walter is new to Homeless Hounds and is under assessment. This lucky boy has got himself a lovely foster home. This is what his foster mummy has to say about him:

Loves human company, excitable and very friendly. A real snuggle bunny, likes to know where you are and be near you for cuddles. He has his own bed but you will find him on yours in the night keeping close to you, he is a good sleeper and also likes a few snoozes during the day. Knows some basic commands. Full of beans when playing, is able to entertain himself with his toys and also has a special ball with grab tags which he loves when you get into a game with him.

Walter walks well on the lead and can walk for a long time. He has met dogs on walks and appears friendly but if a dog appears aggressive he will growl back. He has lived with dogs and children in the past. He needs to have a little walk on the lead to go to the toilet, if I let him out in our small back yard he doesn’t understand what is required of him but we are working on this. He has not had any accidents in the house and can be left for a couple of hours, he is not destructive and is so excited to see you when you get back.

He has such a cute expressive face and loves to touch your arm with his paw and stare deep into your eyes. If he is not sure about something he becomes very submissive and rolls over for a tummy rub for reassurance. He has a long wiry cream coat but does not shed hair, was well behaved with people and other dogs at the groomers and travels well in the car. Ideally, this lovable little fellow needs an owner who will not leave him for long lengths of time, and who has time and patience for training. He just wants to love and please you and be your little shadow.
